LimerBoard N1 is an ESP32-S3 based development board with onboard USB-C, Wi-Fi 6 and a 40-pin expansion header. This guide takes you from unboxing to a running program in about ten minutes.
In the box
- LimerBoard N1 development board
- USB-C to USB-A cable (1 m)
- Quick-start card with pinout diagram
- Four rubber feet and a set of jumpers
Connect power
Plug the USB-C cable into the port labelled USB and connect the other end to your computer or a 5V/2A adapter. The green PWR LED lights up within one second.
If you are powering the board from the expansion header instead, feed a regulated 5V supply into pin 5V and ground to any GND pin.
Install the toolchain
Install Arduino IDE 2.x or VS Code with the PlatformIO extension, then add the Limrox board package:
- Open File > Preferences > Additional board URLs and paste the Limrox package index URL.
- Open Boards Manager, search LimerBoard and click Install.
- Select LimerBoard N1 from the board dropdown.
Driver note
The onboard USB-UART bridge uses a CH343 chip. Windows 10 and earlier need the CH343 driver; macOS and Linux detect it automatically.
Flash the blink demo
Open File > Examples > LimerBoard > Blink, press the upload arrow and watch the onboard blue LED start blinking after reset. If upload fails, hold BOOT while plugging the board in and try again.
Next steps
Move on to the pinout reference before wiring external modules, and keep the firmware update guide handy for OTA updates.
